When you measure, Home Check shows the degree, the facing mountain and the sitting mountain together; on the plan, the facing bar always points to the main door.

Sitting and facing坐向
Explanation
For homes, facing is usually measured from the façade and main door looking outward: stand on the threshold with your back to the house and face the street. The degree you read is the facing; add or subtract 180° for the sitting.
The formula "sitting X, facing Y" names a mountain at both ends, so one degree is enough to name both correctly.

Questions
Is facing taken from the main door or from the façade?
In most townhouses the main door is on the façade, so they agree. When the main door is clearly on a side wall, record both degrees for your feng shui master; in Home Check the facing bar follows the main door.
Does sitting matter as much as facing?
Yes. Sitting is the home's support, and readings such as the birth-year mountain or the altar look at the sitting side too.
