Direct wind直冲风

Explanation

It often affects houses facing a long alley, the gap between two towers, or homes whose front and back doors line up. Architecturally, strong draughts also bring dust, noise and heat loss.

The usual remedy is to turn the wind before it enters — a screen, a row of plants, a half wall, offset doors — not to seal the house.

How Home Check uses it

Questions

Is a front door in line with a back door a direct wind?

It is usually read that way, since air and energy pass straight through. A partition or cabinet placed between the two slows it down.

Is a home with no breeze better?

No. Homes need ventilation; what feng shui avoids is strong wind running straight through, not air itself.
