When designing a new home, Home Check gives priority to a front yard — the home's inner bright hall.

Bright hall明堂
Explanation
A good bright hall is reasonably spacious, level and clean, with nothing sharp or bulky right in front of the door. Too narrow, and energy is stifled; too exposed and windswept, and it scatters.
Inside, the living room just behind the main door acts as a small bright hall.

Questions
Where is the bright hall of a townhouse with no yard?
The pavement and road in front are the outer bright hall; inside, the space right behind the main door plays the role of the inner bright hall.
Does a large tree in front of the door block the bright hall?
A tree or column straight in front of the main door is usually considered a blockage; placing it off to one side is better.
